History Of The Foundation Of The School
The Lagos State government decided in 2003 to break
secondary schools into Junior and senior categories. That gave birth to the present
Lagos State Junior Model College, adore, in that year.
Junior Model College is situated at a small and quiet
community called Badore near Ajah, in the then Eti-Osa Local Government.
The school is under the supervision of the Lagos State
Education District III, Falomo.
The management of the school ensures that the school
achieves the purpose of its establishment by putting a lot of efforts in place
regarding the promotion of academic excellence.
Today the school is considered as one of the best public schools in the
country.
The performances of our students in both the Internal and
External examinations and the laurels they had won in numerous competitions
attest to the fact that the school has truly realized its educational and
social objectives of its foundation.
Conducive School Atmosphere
We are located in a siren, pleasant and conducive environment
which provides an enabling climate for the attainment of academic excellence.
Generally, school
environment is favourable to reading and learning for any child who is really determined
to succeed academically.
The school compound is surrounded by a playground on one
side, the staff quarters,hostels,sick-bay and the dining hall on the other
side.
There are 18 functional classrooms in the school. Other
buildings include the Principal's Office,a well-stocked Library, the Bursar's Office,
Science Laboratory, Mathematics Laboratory, Language Laboratory Business
Studies Laboratory and the Teachers' Common-Room.
Staff Strength
There are 28 government employed teaching staff in the school
who are supported by seven Parent Forum employed teaching staff, a Librarian
and one Sanitation Manager.
Student Population
Presently we have a student population of eight hundred and
fifty nine (859) in the school. Our school uniform is Lime green in colour.
Academic, Sports And Social Activities
We realise the importance of a sound mind, sharp brain in a
sound body hence opportunities are provided for the students to engage in games,
sports and social activities in addition to their academic work.
Lessons start at 8:00 a.m immediately after the morning devotion
and end at 2:00 p.m.
Remedial classes are organised for the students who fall below
50% in their academic work.
Evening class is usually between 4:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m every
day. In the last three years the students' Junior Secondary School Certificate Examinations
(JSSCE) results have improved progressively.It reached 100% in 2013.
Club And Societies
To encourage social interaction and bring forth sociable students,
the school exposes the students to different clubs and societies.
The establishment of these clubs and societies in the school
allows the students to widen their knowledge and inculcate in them a sense of
responsibility as they are meaningful engaged.
It is compulsory for
each of the students to belong to not less than two clubs in the school
both subject-oriented club and uniform-organization clubs like the Boys Scout, Nigerian
Red Cross, Girls Guides, Boys Brigade, Junior Engineers, Technicians and
Scientist (JETS) Club, Young Farmers' Club, Home Makers' Club and Press Club.
